3. Heaven can wait and Hell can wait even longer!

Once you've gotten over the initial shock of finding out the riches of heaven are just a bowl of ice cream, Heaven sort of sounds all right (and rather tasty, too). It wouldn't be the worst thing to be filled with pleasure for all Eternity, right?

But, when you really stop to think about it, Heaven loses some of its appeal. Sure you'll be filled with this absolutely marvelous feeling, but it just keeps on going, and going...

Since it lasts forever, you never get to stop and say, "Wow, that was great!" And besides, you're not you anymore when you become One with the Universe -- you're just a mushy part of everything else in the Bowl of Life.

Maybe now you're starting to understand why souls go through so many, many, many lifetimes. To be perfectly honest, more than a few nearly-perfected souls have done a little bad deed just before they would have reached Enlightenment, so that they'd have to come back and do it all over one more time.

So, there you have the Great Cosmic Dilemma of Life. No one wants there to be a Hell. But no one who's really thought it over is too excited about Heaven, either. It takes quite a few lifetimes before a soul's sweet tooth gets so unbearable they give in and take that final plunge into the Great Bowl of Ice Cream in the sky.
